Tanya Lee

Pianist Tanya Lee is a current Junior at Highland High School. She has been playing piano since the age of seven, and has since been named two time International Member of the American College of Musicians, two time First Place Winner of the East Texas Piano Solo Festival, Winner of the Kilgore College Bach Festival, Outstanding Winner and First Place Winner of the Geneva Swedish Days Festival, First Place Winner of the Chinese Fine Arts Society Music Festival, First Place Winner of the Southern Illinois Beethoven Piano Competition, Winner of the Anne Dean Turk Concerto Competition, Winner of the 2002 Sound Symphony Concerto Competition, Winner of the 2002 Rockland County Music Teacher's Association Concerto Competition, and Honorable Mention Recipient of the 2002 Stravinsky Awards. She has performed with the Kilgore College Symphony in Texas, as the Winner of the Anne Dean Turk Concerto Competition. She has also performed twice with the Sound Symphony of Long Island, and also performed with the Rockland County Symphony in New York. Her other performances include the Si-Yo Music Society Young Artists Concerts and was a musical Guest Artist in The Celebration of Chinese Culture in Ulster County.

In school, she is one of the top of her class, actively participating in Peer Leadership, Student Council, Mock Trial, Theatre, French Club, Math Team, Science Research, and Multi-cultural Club. She is an honored Member and Officer of the National Honor Society, National Honor Roll, and Who's Who Among American High School Students. She has also attended the Junior Statesman Summer School at Yale University, graduating with honors, and was also selected to attend the Junior Statesman Summer School at Georgetown University this summer.

She has studied with Eva Woo, Judy Mancinelli, and Linda Parr. She currently studies with Tung Kwong Kwong, the last pupil of Artur and Karl Ulrich Schnabel.
